SAMIZDAT

Simon Reynolds is a music writer, a very good one, who I turned down the opportunity to meet the other week because I'm an eternal twat. You may have seen his books on two of my favourite subjects - acid house and post-punk music.

I digress, the reason he is on this here website is because he's written a very nice piece for The Guardian about the return of fanzines. Yeah, he talks about music mags exclusively but it's all relevant.

Read it here.

Most impressively, he drops the word Samizdat, described on dictionary.com as;

"A clandestine publishing system within the Soviet Union, by which forbidden or publishable literature was reproduced and circulated privately, or subsequently a work or periodical circulated by this system"
