ALBION COLLECTORS' AND HISTORIANS' FAIR

Let us be honest, the only three fairs worth attending are Scarborough, Hamburg and, of course, the Brighton and Hove Albion Collectors' and Historians' Society (BHACHS) fair that takes place this Sunday. The society was to have its ninth annual auction of Albion memorabilia on the Sunday after the Colchester home match that failed to materialise due to poor weather. It will now take place this Sunday (16 January 2011) at 11am in a portakabin behind the north stand at Withers. Luckily, it will be the last year that it will take place at that shoddy, miserable stadium.

We are currently throwing together the wonderfully submitted articles from contributors (and a few shoddier ones from ourselves) for TSLR026 out on Saturday against Peterborough. This month we feature some of the Albionites of 2010 and the BHACHS chairman Tim Carder has given as a mouth watering interview on the plans for the museum at Falmer so the least we can do is encourage you TSLRites to attend the fair. Don't forget it will be at 11am on Sunday and you can view the items up for sale here. One of the finer items for sale is pictured above with a starting price of £65 being as it is a framed FA Cup Final flag and a rossette from 1983.

There will also be a load of programmes (and possibly fanzines which we can buy for our new library section on this very blog) and other Albion memorabilia on sale from a variety of stalls. You can also become a fully fledged member of the society for a very cheap price and it gives us a chance to renew that membership. We will be in attendance but will be wary having spent £50 on a signed Goldstone Rap 12" last season.
