Being Albion fans, we obviously enjoy viewing painful things and there is nothing more painful than this clip of German midfielder and Darren Freeman lookalike, Ewald Lienen, getting his leg smashed apart back in 1981. Perhaps what makes this injury worse is the fact that 1980s style shorts were so skimpy, you get a clear view of the horrific gash. What is more remarkable is that Lienen actually stands up following the tackle to remonstrate with the player who shoved his studs inside his leg. Us machosists have viewed illogical broken legs in football plenty of times but leg gashes are all too rare so make sure you've had yur lunch before sitting back and watching this world of pain.
