It appears that the Albion are set to confirm the purchase of Gordon Greer from Swindon Town in the early part of next week. We're sure that it will be yet another undisclosed amount but the figure, according to the Argus' Brian Owen suggests it will be around the £250k mark. That is quite a lot of money for a club like ours and has to be considered as exciting.
TSLR Towers has been frantically researching the history of the man and, thanks to Wikipedia, we can exclusively reveal that he scored on his Blackburn debut against Barcelona - now that's the sort of player we want to be purchasing! Before that, he played for Kilmarnock and Doncaster before joining Swindon - he becomes the first Scottish Albion signing since Graeme Smith but don't let that put you off.
And finally, click here for a look at a piece of evidence from his former career. It means he'll hopefully bring some much needed security for our defence next season.
